The Dispute Resolution Office, is seeking a contract mediator(s) to provide mediation and facilitation services in family and non-family disputes for the general public, government ministries, and agencies. The contractor will demonstrate exemplary engagement, interpersonal and negotiation skills, and be able to design and deliver conflict resolution and collaborative problem-solving processes. The contractor may also be requested to deliver training workshops on a variety of conflict resolution topics.

Typically, contractors will possess skills acquired through the completion of a Dispute Resolution training program
and a degree in law, social work, education, psychology, or administration (or an equivalent combination of  education and experience), combined with several years of experience in the field of dispute resolution including work as a third-party neutral mediator/facilitator. Contractors will provide services in person, by email, by videoconference and teleconference, and may be required to travel province-wide.

Successful contractor(s) will possess a knowledge of:
• Dispute resolution theory, processes and methodologies;
• Family functioning and the dynamics of separation and
divorce on adults and children;
• Domestic violence, mental health, addictions, suicide
prevention; and
• Early resolution services, legal and court processes.
Experience with the principles and theories of adult learning,
teaching, curriculum development and adult learning styles would be an asset.

Consideration for service is paid on an hourly rate, based on knowledge and experience.
