Certification WorkshopsThe following are authorized to offer the FMC Certification Preparation Workshops to individuals who are considering the FMC certification designation(s). For details on the actual FMC certification process see Certification Process linked from the FMC homepage.
British Columbia: The Corrections and Community Justice Service Division of the Justice Institute of BC is pleased to offer Family Mediator Certification Preparation workshops. The Justice Institute offers a number of face-to-face and online courses tailored to meet the substantive knowledge requirements for certification. It trains family justice counsellors who are employed by the Ministry of the Attorney General in BC. The facilitator and coaches who will be delivering the training have completed their certification through Family Mediation Canada. Please contact Laurel Holonko (604) 528-5550 lholonko@jibc.ca or Margot D'souza (604) 528-5546 MDsouza@jibc.ca for information about future training dates.
Participants in workshops, take note: The preparation and delivery of the workshop is the licensees responsibility. These workshops are not sanctioned by FMC, nor does FMC guarantee that candidates taking the workshop will achieve FMC certification. All students registering for these workshops must sign an acknowledgement of the above, prior to taking the workshop. As well, a participant evaluation of the workshop must be completed and submitted, along with the student declaration, to FMC by the workshop facilitator within two weeks of the workshop completion. Facilitators of the workshops are provided with FMC copy written material for their use during the workshops. Each facilitator is responsible for setting their workshop fees, and workshop content. No other institution or individual, other than those noted above, are FMC authorized to offer the FMC Certification Preparation Workshops. Although these workshops are not a prerequisite requirement of FMC certification, FMC encourages individuals to consider them in preparation for the certification program. For more information on the workshops, contact the individuals noted above. |
